Sometimes we feel that life has played a trick on us. Fate made us different from our fellows because we are chemically dependent people. We feel like life has made fools out of us. But if we really examine ourselves, we find that it is not life but our self will that got us into trouble. Our problems were really of our own making, not something fate dealt out. The only way we know to remedy this is to make our will one with the Father's. We can choose not to be fools of fate, but children of God. Learning to turn our lives over to God is not spiritual contest. In our chemically depedent days, we demanded to know who did more of what, who made more than whom, and so on. Hopefully we have left all that behind. Our spiritual quest should be with the desire that His will be done in all things, never to override, outwit or outdistance others in the same quest. God knows our possibilities and give us a place that we can fill acceptably.
